Letter From the President

Welcome to our website!

American Ceramics Society - Design Chapter, Southern California Section was founded in 1945. Our primary goal is to increase knowledge and expand the public’s awareness of the many facets of clay. Our governing body consists of volunteer members who work on various committees and activities. Through their efforts we have achieved continued growth and vitality. We are proud we are able to hurdle diversity as we become more remote geographically to claim as members more than 300 clay artists in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside and Ventura Counties. Many of our members have regional, national, and international reputations, such as Susan Peterson, Vivika and Otto Heino, Raul Coronel, Jerry Ackerman, Frank Matranga, William Shinn, Patrick Crabb, Neil Moss, Kevin Myers, John Hopkins and Steven Horn.

I am proud to be your president and would love to continue our proud tradition as one of the most foremost organizations in the pursuit of excellence in clay. However, I can’t complete our mission singularly. We have board positions open and we would love to have you join! Taking an active role in ACS-DC means you will have an opportunity to create new opportunities for YOUR ACS-DC.

The ACS-DC newsletter is published 10 months out of the year and is one of the many benefits our members enjoy. The newsletter features the following sections:

An online membership form can be downloaded and printed. Please return by mail to the address on the application form.
Our membership fees have the best value in the nation. With your membership you will receive a copy of ACS-DC Membership Directory. This directory lists our current Officers and Board of Directors, a Table of Sources and Services for ceramic materials and equipment in the Greater Los Angeles Region.
If you chose to become one of our Corporate Members, you will have a feature ad in our Member’s Directory as well as mention on this website.
